At the very core a relationship should be defined as connecting with others in pursuit of fulfilling one or more common cause. It remains same for any personal and also professional relationship as it is created to fulfill something which is not possible alone. if the relation is driven or controlled by one party not solving common purpose then it does not last for long both in Personal and professional relationship. It starts with common purpose but vary over a period of time. This may vary for everyone involved as everyone is going through different experiences every second physically, mentally & spiritually. So relationship can never ever be absolute and since it is variable , it needs attention, intention and participation to continue. There cannot be any relationship without any purpose and the ultimate purpose for each ends in Happiness for each other . We are the result of relationship we have with different people which may be relationship with family, friends , teachers , Colleagues, Mentors , Coaches and so on. Thus we become the result of people with whom we are surrounded so it is utterly important to choose people whenever you have to choose keeping Purpose at the center.

The Purpose of any relation should never be seeking anything or expecting anything but it has to be more about CO-ELEVATION which means transforming together and complementing each other for growth. In this virtual era when connection and networking is the fuel for everything we can do , it is very important to do something about it paying attention to it in a deeper level.

• Self Understanding to stand apart – It surely starts from understanding one self first and the Purpose for which you can stand for. Self understanding acts as foundation of good relationship with others. Stephen Covey mentions in his book 7 habits of highly effective people that “Interdependence is a choice which only independent people can make ” In other words, Relationship would be great only if one can do self mastery. Once we understand ourselves and our intrinsic motivation, our expression is natural and which definitely helps to connect with people having common purpose and thus a better relationship.
• Being Porous to attract– Porous literally means capacity to absorb anything and in relationship it is to understand anyone at a deeper level. it is very important for us to have that capacity to provide space with deep level of trust .Keith Ferrazi in his Book “Never Eat Alone” mentions about being Porous in any relationship and Formula for Porous = Generosity+ Intimacy. Generosity simply means understanding and helping others before getting understood and always ask questions -How Can I help you? Intimacy means connecting at a deeper level and embracing the power of vulnerability. Porosity in relationship helps to understand each other at the core having synergy and to know what are the common passion which they have and what Purpose they together can stand for. Purpose helps to hold the relationship even tighter as it is not limited to only people involved in relationship but many more other people.
• Personal Branding to be Audacious– Brand is not only limited to any organization but also equally applicable to Individual having some set of Values, attributes and Purpose. Similar to what Branding does for an Organization, Personal branding reflect who the person are ,what Values they have and what they stand for. Personal Branding can be in the form of any logo, name or tagline but purpose is for others to know about you and it becomes easier for them to decide to connect with you. Being Audacious means stepping out and say what you want to say boldly which is uniquely yours and is beyond any social mirror. Personal brand should also be personal ,unique and bold to be Audacious and thus help right people to connect and stand for a common Purpose.
• Networking to change your world – If the above steps are followed, this step does not need much effort specially in todays virtual and super connected world. Our Next gens (Gen Z and Gen Alpha) are and will be differently connected than previous gens so it is considerably important to do it with great attention and do it with Purpose. Just connection to increase the no of connection does not help anyone so it is important to understand yourself, make other comfortable and brand yourself to surround with people with right people.

Every human are uniquely different to each other but still we share common interest to many people and sometimes we complement each other to help each other grow together. In this complex world we will always need people in our journey but connecting with right people at the right time can transform our life and thus it should not be done just by accident. The Purpose of relationship needs to be paid attention so moving ahead so that together we all can co-create a better world for tomorrow.
